The woman may be the main focus of the pregnancy, but that does not mean that her partner does not have a say in the decision-making process. In fact, many men who find themselves experiencing an unplanned pregnancy alongside their partner have several questions, including:
- What am I supposed to do now?
- Can she take a pregnancy test?
- Is adoption an option?
- Am I ready to be a father?
- Is my opinion valuable in this situation?
All of these questions are completely normal. What is important to know is that your opinion is important. In fact, it’s often the opinion the woman wants to hear the most. You can make a big difference in this situation, whether you realize it or not.
As in any stressful situation, communication is crucial. It is important that you are both clear about how one another feels regarding the pregnancy.
